Who I am
I was born and raised in Ball Ground. I am proud to have spent my entire life in Georgia, and seeing the cultural diversity of our state, from the Blue Ridge to Savannah, taught me early on that despite our differences, Georgians know how to work together.
I grew up in a household led by a single mother of four. As the oldest, I stepped up to look after my siblings while my mother worked tirelessly to provide for us. Her dedication taught me a level of perseverance that I carry with me to this day. It is that same perseverance that has brought me to this campaign.
I never set out to be a politician. However, I have experienced the very struggles that leaders under the Golden Dome and in Washington often discuss only in the abstract. I’ve lived through the "spaghetti leftovers week" at the end of every month when the food stamps ran out. I know what it’s like to miss doctor’s appointments because your parents earn "too much" to qualify for Medicaid, yet not enough to keep the threat of foreclosure away.
Times are tough, and while our representatives acknowledge that, their solutions are out of touch with our reality. They tell us that if we just give more tax breaks to the wealthy, the economy will fix itself. They claim that if people simply worked harder, they wouldn't need help.
I have worked hard every single day of my life, and I still know the anxiety of an unforeseen expense wiping out a monthly grocery budget. Enough is enough.
I am running for the State House because we need fresh perspectives and real-world ideas. I’m bringing an honest Georgia work ethic, a commitment to collaboration, and the stubbornness required to right this ship. It’s time for a representative who actually knows what it’s like to live the life they’re legislating.
